President

Emma Wuebker is the President of the Simon Kenton Council Venturing Officers' Association. In addition, she concluded her term as President of Crew 84 in Westerville in October, 2017. Ms. Wuebker has participated as a learner and staff member for True North NYLT at Camp Oyo. Although she has graduated from high school, she plans to stay involved as she attends The Ohio State University to pursue a career in Engineering. Emma has grown to love Scouting through events and meetings with her Crew, experiences like the 2017 National Scout Jamboree, and she plans to continue to participate by attending events like Powderhorn High Adventure Training, staffing for True North NYLT, and planning events for Venturers in Simon Kenton Council.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Vice President of Administration

Katie Smith is a member of Ohio Valley District Crew 33 chartered out of Parkview United Methodist Church where she serves as the Crew's President. She is a sophomore at Bishop Ready High School and has been a Venturer for two years. She completed the Ad Altare Dei Catholic Religious emblem in 2016 and plans to compete the Pope Pius the XII emblem. She has been a member of GSA Troop 2219 in Grandview for 9 years where she has completed both her Silver Award, and Gold Award. Katie is a PAL2 at Camp Ken-Jockety and has been a valuable staff member of the Dioceses of Columbus Catholic Committee on Scouting Camporee Staff. Katie has earned three out of the four Catholic Girl Scout religious emblems and attended the 2017 National Scout Jamboree at the Summit Bechtel Reserve. Vice President of Program

Elaine Smith is a member of Ohio Valley District Crew 33 chartered out of Parkview United Methodist Church where she serves as the Crews Vice President of Administration. She is a freshman at Bishop Ready High School and has been a Venturer for one year. She recently completed the Ad Altare Dei Catholic Religious Emblem and plans to complete the Pope Pius the XII Emblem in the next year. Council Boatswain

Isabella Fregoso is a Sea Scout from Ship 280 and an Explorer from Post 310. She holds the position of Boatswain, and has earned the rank of Ordinary in her Ship. Isabella is the current Council Boatswain within the Simon Kenton Council Venturing Officers’ Association. She is very excited to do her part in getting the word out on all the branches of Scouting. She has participated and staffed NYLT, JLOW, and Powderhorn. Isabella is constantly volunteering at Camp Lazarus, and has worked as a Lifeguard for Simon Kenton Council at Camp Lazarus. President

John Hord is from Westerville, Ohio, is a senior at Westerville North High School, and is a member of Westerville Troop 64 and Crew 64. John   earned his Eagle Scout in Troop 64 in 2015 where he currently serves as a Junior Assistant Scoutmaster. John is currently serving as the President of the Simon Kenton Council Venturing Officer’s Association and his home crew. John has staffed Simon Kenton NYLT for three years and will serve as the Senior Patrol Leader of the course in the spring. In addition, John has taken Powderhorn and served on Staff for NAYLE at Philmont. As John enters college, he hopes to stay active in the Venturing Program, to earn the Summit Award, and to give back to the scouting program overall. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Council Boatswain

My name is Hunter Hires. I am a Eagle Scout of Troop 148 out of Hilliard, Ohio. I am also Apprentice rank in Sea Scout Ship 280 out of Leather-lips yacht club. I am the Vice President of Sea Scouting in the Venturing Officers of America (VOA) in our area. In August of 2016, I received the National Certificate of Merit for helping effect a rescue of a father/son yacht in O'Shaughnessy Resevoir a year prior. I have completed and staffed the True North and SKC NYLT courses and I have youth staffed WoodBadge on two separate occasions. I have participated in various camporees such as The Turtle hike, Powderhorn, Thunderbase, and 100 years of scouting Camporee.

VP of Communication

John Morrison is from Westerville, Ohio and is a senior at Westerville North High School. John earned his Eagle Scout rank in 2014 and is a junior assistant scoutmaster in Troop 64. John is the Vice President of Communications for the VOA and is a Crew guide in his home crew, Crew 64 out of Westerville.  John will be attending The Ohio State University in the fall to study Business. Outside of scouting, John likes hunting, fishing, cars, and being outside.
Fun Fact: John is a graduate of the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving in Chandler, Arizona.
